Collins netted a goal in the 17th minute via a header. The former Sunderland star connected to a header from Danny Andrew to put the visitors ahead. The hosts had their chance few minutes earlier as Bright Osayi-Samuel broke through the left flank but he flunked it as it was deflected.
The determined Pool side equalized just before the end of the first half. Defender Andrew Boyce caused an own goal when he headed the ball beyond his team’s keeper.

The Seasiders were relivedbut they should not have relaxed. Grimsby took the lead again at stoppage timeas Blackpool failed to deal with a corner. Jones scored from close range to distort the scoreline again.

Jones punished the hosts again when he made it a brace in the 70th minute.Tom Aldred made a defensive error that Jones took advantage of; he raced clear to put it past keeper Dean Lyness.

The loss leaves Blackpool out of the top seven vying for a playoff spot. Carlisle and Exeter are tied on 62 points and a victory would have placed them on the sixth spot after 41 games this term. With seven games left, the team have their work clearly cut out.
