The Blackpool FC board has finally shown the door to the club boss Jose Riga.

The 57-year old Belgium international did not have too much success in charge of the Championship club. Out of the 15 games that he managed, Blackpool came out victorious in just one.

The current situation is that Blackpool is at the last position in the table with more than a quarter of the season being finished.

Now, to make sure that they don’t play in the third division next season, they will have to win most of their games.

There are rumours that Blackpool has already decided who is going to be Riga’s replacement and it’s none other than Lee Clark who has recently suffered axe at Birmingham City.

Birmingham is another team which is doing very poorly in the Championship. But, still, they are far better than Blackpool in terms of points.

Birmingham at the penultimate position in the table, but, they have 8-point advantage over Blackpool.

It has been reported that Blackpool had first contacted Gary Rowett, but, he rejected the offer and later went on to take over as new boss at Birmingham.

Owen Coyle was also on Blackpool’s radar, but, he turned their offer down as well due to some reason.

So, eventually, Blackpool had to go to Clark and if the reports are true, the two parties have already agreed on the terms and conditions and very soon, Clark would be there at the club trying to save the ship from sinking.

The only team that Blackpool has defeated in the Championship this season is Cardiff City. It was a 1-0 win for the Seasiders on their home turf on 3rd of October with Zoko finding the back of the net in the 64th minute.
